My second stab at remodeling has been far less stressful than the first time around. So far, this is making me quite happy. I’m finding it much easier to make decisions, order materials, and the process is moving along smoothly. Perhaps it’s the fact I’m working with a different contractor, perhaps it’s less overall work than the last time, or perhaps I learned enough lessons on the first project that are helping me now! Have a peek below on what’s been done so far and pictures of our progress.
Here is a recap of where we are at, to date (with photos of the progression below):
-Walls are fully framed out and insulated throughout 50% of the basement.
-Old room divider wall removed and new walls built around mechanical room & new storage room framed out
-Trenches dug (and now filled with concrete) with new drains for bathroom shower
-Can lights installed throughout basement & electrical moved as needed to accommodate new walls / outlets added throughout
-Materials purchased for basement (tile, vanity, toilet, light fixtures)
Projects Still to come (Estimated Completion Date May 15th):
-Frame out door to laundry room
-Drywall/finish ceiling throughout, including 4th bedroom (currently used as storage for items that were left in basement)
-Epoxy floor in laundry room
-Carpet installation throughout rest of basement
-Bathroom electric, drywall, door to be moved and full frame out/finish of space
-Trim/moldings & Finish paint throughout
It’s coming together!
